Trafford Employment, Enterprise and Skills Group

Focusing specifically on reducing and preventing unemployment, raising the skills of the workforce, and increasing the number of enterprise start-ups, the service focuses on three key workstreams:

The SWAT (Stretford Women’s Action Team) Collective Skills Programme will train women with lived experience of gender-based violence as volunteers with the skills and confidence to run a programme of learning and skills for their peers to help more women achieve independent lives free from harm.

‘Raise Your Game’ entails inclusive life skill workshops focused on empowering young people, older people, and people with disabilities in Trafford with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to live their best lives. Workshops have been co-designed with potential beneficiaries with an aim of supporting progression into further learning and employment.

Henshaws Digital Skills Project will help the visually impaired residents of Manchester City find digital solutions to help them live more independently and support them interacting with an increasingly technological world. Digital skills empower visually impaired individuals, offering easier access to services, social inclusion, and increased employment opportunities.
